To apply for the new Serbian biometric passport you must present following original documentation:

  • Serbian Citizenship certificate not older than 1 year;
  • Serbian Birth certificate - not older than 1 year;
  • Old (blue) Serbian passport;
  • Consular fee of £47.00

Before approaching the Embassy for the acquisition of the biometric data it is mandatory to reserve the exact date and time for an interview (http://bpi.msp.rs/london/). For the minors both parents written consent is required.

Applying for old Serbian Passport (blue cover)

Old Serbian passport (blue covers) will be valid for travelling only until 31.12.2010.

If you are applying for the old passport of Serbia, the requirements are as follows:

  1. Citizenship Certificate of Serbia issued not earlier than 6 months prior to the date of passport application.

  2. An identity document issued in Serbia.

  3. Resident permit in the UK or the Republic of Ireland
    (leave to remain in the UK or the Republic of Ireland).

  4. 2 completed and signed application forms

  5. 3 passport-size photographs

  6. Consular fee of £7 payble in cash or postal order.
  7. Consular fee of £20 payable upon issuance of the passport.

Upon ascertaining whether any legal impediments exist for issuing a passport, the Ministry of the Interior informs the Embassy that the passport application has been approved. The Embassy is not in the position to influence the length of time the Ministry of the Interior might take to complete this procedure and send back their reply. After the application has been approved, the Embassy can issue a passport within 5 working days.

How to obtain documents?

Documents can also be obtained by contacting the Registry directly, through a family member, relative, solicitor etc. who reside in Serbia.

Birth and Citizenship Certificate can be obtained through the Embassy. The applicants should holder of a Serbian passport or Serbian ID, fill out an appropriate application form and pay the consular fee of £26. The Embassy is not in the position to influence the length of time the Registry Offices might take to send back their reply.

Applicants entered in the Registers of Citizens in municipalities in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohia can obtain their Citizenship Certificates from the following Registry Offices:

  1. for Pristina, Podujevo, Glogovac, Obilic, Lipljan and Kosovo Polje - the Office of Municipal Government in Nis;
  2. for Kosovska Mitrovica, Srbica, Zubin Potok, Vucitm, Zvecan and Leposavic - the Office of Municipal Government in Kraljevo;
  3. for Pec, Istok and Klina - the Office of Municipal Government in Kragujevac;
  4. for Prizren, Orahovac, Suva Reka and Gora - the Office of Municipal Government in Krusevac;
  5. for Djakovica and Decant - the Office of Municipal Government in Jagodina;
  6. forGnjilane,Vitina,KosovskaKamemcaandNovoBrdo- the Office of Municipal Government in Vranje;
  7. for Urosevac, Kacanik, Stimlje and Strpce - the Office of Municipal Government in Leskovac;

Identity Documents

Identity can be established on the basis of the following documents:

  1. Passport of tile SFRY (red cover),
  2. Passport of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (blue cover),
  3. Personal identity card issued in Serbia,
  4. Valid drivers licence issued in Serbia only.
